Brissy/BrisVegas

Before heading off to the Whitsundays, we decided to explore our new hometown of Brisbane. We took the bus to Queen Street directly in the city and walked the bridge connecting the city to South Bank. Then we walked back. thrilling.

After hiking about 5k to the botanical gardens we relaxed and saw some pretty flowers and sights along the Brisbane river. We then continued walking and came upon Riverfront where there are a ton of good restaurants and there was a nice market!

Then the city cat took us over to New Farm where we enjoyed the touristy spot of Brisbane's Powerhouse-this place used to be some kind of industrial warehouse that they turned into a concert hall in which every floor has a different restaurant and view of the river. While we were there, the exhibit was alcatraz prisoners who had committed extremely serious crimes-it had huge pictures of numerous prisoners and a description about which crime they did time for and how they feel about it, creepy but fascinating
